Caedere

A Caedere or or Butchers were a type of shock infantry used by the World Eaters Legion during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy. They are essentially what happens when a Rampager goes the deep end in his RAEG and predictably lost his marbles. They were for all intents and purposes, the proto-Khornate Berserkers.

Overview

These warriors consisted of recruits modified with the Butcher's Nails and were the epitome of frenzied killing that Angron's Legion sought to exemplify. Caedere were Rampagers as aforementioned above, that was deemed too far gone to even follow basic discipline and had to be restrained between battles before being unleashed on their foes.

Since they were former Rampagers, they still wield many of the Caedere Weapons from before, such as the standard Excoriator Chainaxes, as well as Meteor Hammers, Barb-Hook Lashes or paired Falax Blades.

Given that they lost their shit, their Mark II: Crusade Armour would have been worn out by the amount of Leeroy Jenkins they were doing in hardcore CQC. So, in order to prevent them from assaulting the enemy butt-ass naked, they were restrained with the mother-of-all tranquilisers (i.e. Powerfist to the face) and were dressed up in heavily modified Mark IV: Maximus Armour so they could actually survive long enough to shove a chainaxe into someone's face. Here is where they start to really resemble their future Khornate kin.
