One of the two primary assault boats used by the Dark Eldar

The Impaler Assault Module is essentially an extremely large Assault Boat used by Dark Eldar pirates. They are so big, they operate out of launch bays, and can be visible in BF:A. Unfortunately, the weapon designer fucked up as they are mounted on the prow of a larger ship, which is dumb, since the Dark Eldar could just retrofit a larger hanger bay rather than putting them face first in harms way. Their size also limits their range somewhat.

However, the Impaler's size more than makes up for these drawbacks by allowing it to carry many more troops than a normal assault boat - enough to potentially overwhelm an enemy ship, in fact. The potential havoc that an Impaler's soldiers can wreak is far beyond even the best that a mere assault boat's crew could hope for.

Battlefleet Gothic Armada 1 & 2

As the fluff indicates, Impaler Assault Modules are one of the two assault boats the Dark Eldar could carry. While a Dark Eldar ship carries fewer Impalers and is less manoeuvrable with the lowest dodge speed in the entire game, let alone the Slavebringer Assault Boat, it has a higher troop capacity and is the toughest of all assault boats due to its size, which means a higher chance for the troops to fuck shit up.
