Roane Deepers

What they would probably be like, if GW cared.

Roane Deepers are an obscure regiment of Imperial Guard in Warhammer 40,000. According to Dan Abnett, they are based on ANZAC units in World War I... so Australians/New Zealanders IN SPESSS. They are pretty obviously from the world named Roane (which we know nothing about), and are noted for being poorly equipped because Imperium doesn't give a shit about them. Deepers have a reputation of a lazy and laid-back in their warfare, but can get shit done in the battle. Oh, they're also Light Infantry, but without any cool skills like stealth. They appeared alongside Tanith First And Only in a novels Necropolis and Ghostmaker, written by Dan Abnett, and that's pretty much it.

They got fleshed out a bit more in the Sabbat Wars short story collections which details what they are good at ; engineering works, underground warfare, and digging under trenches to literally undermine them. And if you know anything about how this was done in real life, you'll know its fucking horrible work.

This is NOT a stub, that's all there is to know.
