Sifkesh is the Demon Princess of Hopeless Despair, Heresy and Suicide, who revels in inducing people to fall from grace and then commit suicide when they realize what they have become. Needless to say, this means that priests, clerics, oracles and other saintly figures are the favored prey of the Sacred Whore. This makes worshippers of Sifkesh a rarity, as she only appeals to a rather select crowd; blasphemers, heretics, and the excommunicated make up the bulk of her worshippers, although she also has a following amongst survivors of failed suicide attempts. Even worshipping her requires feigning suicide, with the cultist writing a suicide note lambasting their enemies before pretending to commit suicide through strangulation or cutting.
Those willing to worship the Sacred Whore are shielded against mind-altering effects and gain several magical abilities. Beyond the basic spell-like abilities of Command, Whispering Wind and Suggestion, a devoted follower of Sifkesh can gain the power to better resist divine magic cast by a single faith through uttering a blasphemy against that faith and the power to cast a variant Weird spell that kills through suicidal despair rather than intense fear. Her unholy symbol is a pair of bloodied feminine hands crossed at their (slashed) wrists.
Sifkesh appears as a thin human woman with snow-white bird wings sprouting from her shoulders, blood-dripping long black hair, lips and eyes stitched shut with rusty wire, and her body cut apart bloodlessly at various joints, causing certain limbs to move independently of the rest of her body. Her skin is often adorned with the scars of self-mutilation, predominantly cutting. She rules the Abyssal realm of Vantian, City of Open Windows, which takes the form of a massive city along the edge of an ever-crumbling cliff above a churning sea, which is filled with demons and damned souls struggling to keep rebuilding the city as the clifface crumbles and takes chunks of city with it. The souls of fallen priests tend to blasphemous false shrines to every known religion throughout the city.
