The actual Chimera. Now with a little ribbon to Awwww... at

Unlike the Dark Eldar's Khymerae which is 'chimeric-in-name-only', the Khimerix used by House Escher is an actual bonafide chimera. The Khimerix is a Necromundan term meant to describe any creatures they have created in their laboratories, including gene-spliced hybrids, flesh-fused chimerae and other, darker fusions of different species.

Overview[edit]

These monstrosities are then either sold to gladiatoriums, kept as attack beasts to guard and protect Escher holdings, or make their way into the ranks of particularly well-renowned Escher gangs, whose status is considerably increased by their presence.

Despite using illicit means to obtain some species, including ones prohibited throughout the Imperium, the authorities of Necromunda turn a blind eye to Escher's Khimerix, as long as the House avoids using intelligent Xenos life in their experimentation. Despite being an amalgamation of different separate animals, they are very colourful to look at.

Crunch[edit]

On Necromunda, the Khimerix is an absolute multi-wound and multi-attack monster, which is unsurprising given its nature. It’s lightly armored, even if you opt for the scaly hide, but the Khimerix is tough enough that it’ll probably be able to regenerate a few wounds before your opponent can chop through it. Remember that fighting is a basic action, so if this monster activates while engaged it’ll be able to both swing and attempt to heal in the same round. This is without mentioning the fact that it also has a chemical blast breath weapon, so it is also capable at range as well. Sure, it’s around 45 credits more expensive than an Ambot, but the amount of attacks and wounds this bad bitch can lay in a single round is too good to pass up.
