Slate-Agent
Slate-Agents are types of specialists of the Adeptus Arbites who are masters of subterfuge and disguise. Basically, the Judge Dredd equivalent of a Vanus assassin.
Overview[edit]
These agents are created by annihilating any sense of self-possessed by the recruit through sleep and food deprivation, humiliation, hypno-indoctrination, and extreme psychological torments. These acts reduce them to little more than a biological machine in the service of their masters.
It is this element from which their name stems, for they are in a sense a literal "blank slate". Upon recruitment, Slate-Agents are given hypno-indoctrination sessions to create new highly detailed cover identities and are implanted into various criminal, administrative, and aristocratic organizations and houses for the purpose of gathering information or committing acts of sabotage at the behest of the Adeptus Arbites.
So effective is their indoctrination that Slate-Agents are often unaware of their true identity.
