Maggotkin of Nurgle Daemons Tactics

Faction Overview[edit]

Pros[edit]

  • Your fighters are cheap
  • You get healing!

Cons[edit]

  • Despite being Nurglites, you’re not as tough as you'd think.

Abilities Overview[edit]

Fighter Abilities[edit]

  • [Reaction] Impossible to Wound: when targeted with a attack action, subtract 1 hit point from the allocated damage for each successful hit (min 1). (all)
    • Fighter Commentary - depending on the fighter but best to defend agenst high attack low damage fighters as you may be negating 2 to 3 damage.
  • [Double] Disgustingly Resilient: Roll a number of dice equal to the value of this ability. For each 3+, remove 1 damage point allocated to this fighter. (all)
    • Fighter Commentary -
  • [Double] Acid Slime Trail : Pick a visible enemy fighter within 1" of this fighter. This fighter makes a bonus disengage action. Then allocate a number of damage points to that fighter equal to the value of this ability. (Beast of Nurgle)
    • Fighter Commentary -
  • [Double] Venomous Sting: Pick a visible enemy fighter within 1" of this fighter and roll a dice. On a 2+, until the end of the Battle round, that fighter can't make a move action or disengage action. (Plaguebringer, Plague Drone)
    • Fighter Commentary -
  • [Triple] Cloud of Flies: Until the end of the battle round, subtract 1 from the Attack characteristic (to a minimum of 1) of Attack actions that target this fighter. (Plagueridden and Plaguebearer)
    • Fighter Commentary -
  • [Quad] Endless Swarm: Remove a number of damage points allocated to this fighter equal to double the value of this ability. (Nurglings)

  • [Triple] Mermering Overseer: Fendly visible Fighters within 9" gain +1 attack until next battle round. (Leader)
    • Fighter Commentary -

Fighters Overview[edit]

Leader[edit]

Plagueridden[edit]

  • Stats: Movement 3"; Toughness 4; Wounds 15; 90 Pts.
    • Rule: Leader, Warrior
    • Weapons:
      • Sword-Range 1"; Attacks 4; Strength 3; Damage 2/4
  • Fighter Commentary - Your cheap leader option, slow and not great, but at least he has toughness and wounds for his price tag, and four attacks with his meh sword. Take him if you have a specific list build that needs the points.

Poxbringer[edit]

  • Stats: Movement 3"; Toughness 4; Wounds 20; 130 Pts.
    • Rule: Leader
    • Weapons:
      • Arcane Bolt-Range 3-7"; Attacks 2; Strength 3; Damage 3/6
      • Sword-Range 1"; Attacks 4; Strength 4; Damage 2/5
  • Fighter Commentary - upgrade on the Plagueridden with 5 more wounds, a stronger sword, and a ranged spell attack for utility.

Sloppity Bilepiper[edit]

  • Stats: Movement 4"; Toughness 4; Wounds 20; 130 Pts.
    • Rule: Leader, Agile
    • Weapons:
      • Marotter-Range 1"; Attacks 3; Strength 4; Damage 2/4
  • Fighter Commentary -

Spoilpox Scivener[edit]

  • Stats: Movement 3"; Toughness 4; Wounds 22; 135 Pts.
    • Rule: Leader, Champion
    • Weapons:
      • Maw-Range 2"; Attacks 2; Strength 5; Damage 3/5
  • Fighter Commentary -

Plaguebringer[edit]

  • Stats: Movement 6"; Toughness 4; Wounds 35; 255 Pts.
    • Rule: Leader, Fly, Destroyer
    • Weapons:
      • Sword-Range 1"; Attacks 5; Strength 4; Damage 2/4
  • Fighter Commentary - Your deluxe leader, +165 points nets you +3" movement, 10 wounds. You should be taking this guy most of the time, if only for the fact that he has 6" move despite being a Nurgle daemon.

Fighter[edit]

Plaguebearer[edit]

  • Stats: Movement 3"; Toughness 4; Wounds 10; 50 Pts.
    • Rule: Minion
    • Weapons:
      • Sword-Range 1"; Attacks 3; Strength 3; Damage 1/4
  • Fighter Commentary - not the tanks you think of when it comes to Nurgle but they are very cheap, especially with toughness 4, their 2 more wounds, and an extra +1 crit damage from normal chaff.

Plague Drone[edit]

  • Stats: Movement 6"; Toughness 4; Wounds 30; 205 Pts.
    • Rule: Fly, Destroyer
    • Weapons:
      • Sword-Range 1"; Attacks 4; Strength 4; Damage 2/4
  • Fighter Commentary -

Nurglings[edit]

  • Stats: Movement 5"; Toughness 3; Wounds 20; 105 Pts.
    • Rule: -,
    • Weapons:
      • Sword-Range 1"; Attacks 6; Strength 3; Damage 1/3
  • Fighter Commentary - Lots of wounds make them pretty decent tanks, plus their speed is nice, especially for Nurgle. Their 6 attacks are surprisingly nasty when buffed by Grandfather's Blessing. They can heal a lot, too, but it needs quads, so YMMV.

Beast of Nurgle[edit]

  • Stats: Movement 4"; Toughness 4; Wounds 30; 150 Pts.
    • Rule: Beast
    • Weapons:
      • Claws-Range 1"; Attacks 4; Strength 4; Damage 2/4
  • Fighter Commentary - your most offensive fighter, slower then a Plague Drone, but better melee. with Acid Slime Trail ability is easy leaves a Deathly parting gift before hugging to death your opponent's next nearest fighter.
