The HS-129 was a dedicated ground attack aircraft ordered for the Luftwaffe that saw service in Africa and the Eastern front. One of the more interesting aspects of the vehicle is that one variant mounted a 75mm AT gun to it, which is as awesomely retarded as it is retardedly awesome. It can be considered the spiritual predecessor to the overall idea of the A-10 Thunderbolt II as a dedicated AT aircraft.

IRL

The HS129 Started it's life in the late 30's when the Luftwaffe put up a contract for an aircraft that could carry two 20mm cannons and be dedicated for the Anti-tank role. Henschel offered a twin engined vehicle, while the lazy fucks at Focke-Wulf produced an aircraft that was little more than a FW-180 with extra things attached. Whil both aircraft performed terribly, the Henschel was chosen because it was cheaper.

After the fall of France, the Aircraft saw major rework in it's design, as French engines were incorporated into the HS-129B variant, which offered better performance, though it still had inferior range and performance to variants of the Ju-89. They were rushed into servie on the Eastern front in 1942, and despite their limited numbers and generally poor handling characteristics, they performed fairly well against Soviet armor. Later versions of the HS-129 were modified to take cannons of up to 40mm, but we all know you're waiting for the redpill on the 75mm cannon.

It was a gloriously terrible idea, so terrible that the gun could be ejected if the pilot lost control of the aircraft while firing it. It could only carry 26 rounds, but could fire said rounds at 40 per minute. The gun was pretty much impossible to fire consistently, but when it hit something, it was utterly annihilated, as nothing in the war had enough armor to protect itself on the top from such a blast. It never achieved infamy due to the fact that only around 200 were built during the entire war, and the lack of fuel and decent pilots pretty much forced them to stay grounded.
