Night Scythe
Night Scythes are a flying piece of Necron technology introduced in 5th Edition that is one of the many reasons people call the 'crons Mega-Cheese. Why? Because of it's transportation.
While a flying transport's not all that weird (after all, the IG have Valkyries and the Space Marines have Thunderhawks), the difference is that if those other flying transports crash, they crash and can potentially kill members of the squad it carried. If a Night Scythe crashes, on the other hand, the Necrons inside can just pop on out and keep on walking without even feeling a thing (though they can be pinned by the crash). You can guess who we can thank about this stupidity.
What makes this even more bullshit is that this thing doesn't even carry the troops within it. No, it needs a portal to the monolith just to grab those troops and plop them on the ground, which begs the question, "WHY CAN'T YOUR TROOPS JUST DEEP STRIKE?". The answer, you can guess, is just Games Workshop trying to milk you dryer by forcing you to purchase transports to troops who have dubious use for them anyway. And it's not like they were even hurting for flyers anyway, as it has a brother in the Doom Scythe, which does a more sensible job as a death-ray toting jet.
