Beltar is the Suloise goddess of caves, pits, and malice.

History[edit | edit source]

Beltar was once the suloise goddess of earth and caves, but became eventually supplanted by other suloise and non-human deities associated with earth, leaving her only humanoid slaves as worshippers.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Beltar often appears as a hag-like woman, but has also appeared as a beholder, a red dragon, and a marilith.

Worshippers[edit | edit source]

Followers of the Dark Mother are expected to make alliances with powerful creatures, and form armies and tribes to crush their enemies. Beltar's clerics are often leaders of these armies, and those who aren't are cast out to convert others or find more enemies to kill. They inspire hatred within their tribe and regularily sacrifice traitors and weak-willed members to their goddess. Clerics of particular devotion are known to rise as undead a year after their death, where upon they return to their original tribe as proof of their goddess' power.

Dogma[edit | edit source]

Mine and explore caves in pursuit of foes and riches. Fear is not acceptable in the face of adversity, and only hatred is allowed for those who stand in your way.
