Ulaa is a minor goddess in Dungeons & Dragons originating from the Greyhawk setting. Considered part of the Morndinsamman, the Dwarf pantheon, she is the wife of the distinctly non-dwarven god Bleredd, the Oeridian God of Metal, Mines and Smiths.
She places rubies in the earth as gifts to miners, who do her husband's work. Ulaa is depicted as a dwarven woman with gnomish facial features. She wields a mighty hammer called Skullringer. Ulaa's realm in the Outlands is called the Iron Hills. She also spends time in the Seven Heavens. Her husband, Bleredd, is said to dwell with the gnomish gods in Bytopia.
Worship sevices to Ulaa include rhythmic hammering on stone, chanted hymns, and displays of gemstones and minerals.
Ulaa was first detailed for the Dungeons & Dragons game in the World of Greyhawk Fantasy Game Setting (1983), by Gary Gygax. Ulaa was subsequently detailed in Greyhawk Adventures (1988). Ulaa was one of the deities described in the From the Ashes set (1992), for the Greyhawk campaign. Ulaa's role in the 3rd edition Greyhawk setting was defined in the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer (2000).
She ultimately made a surprise reappearance as part of the list of dwarven racial deities in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. Sadly, she was not detailed beyond the bare mechanics needed to be a cleric's patron; she was just lumped into the sprawling array of "lesser" dwarven deities.
