A Container Transporter is a civilian flying aircraft meant to - as its name obviously suggests - ferry shipping containers from one level to another. They are often pretty easy to control, requiring one pilot to fly the damn thing or you can simply put the whole thing on autopilot. Despite this though, for some reason, the control panels resemble a sailing wheel, so don't ask us how the fuck the pilot is meant to pitch the damn thing.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Container Transporters first made their grand debut in Necromunda: Hired Gun. They are able to carry cargo on both its top and bottom, making it quite versatile in its carrying capacity.
These things are VTOL aircraft with four rocket engines strapped on it. In keeping with the Imperial tradition of massacring the air, the Container Transporter is as aerodynamic as a brick, seriously, look at it. It literally looks like a flying metal box.
Container Transporters seem to have replaced semi-trucks, as their ability to carry a shipping container in just about anywhere, makes them incredibly convenient for megalopolises like Hiveworlds, where the tight spaces, lawless goons and multiple strata-worth of crumbling infrastructure kind of makes the idea of getting off in the air for safety a pretty good one. Add in with their surprising good speed and manoeuvrability for a flying brick makes the Container Transporter one of the most crucial logistical vehicles in the Imperium, on par with a Land Crawler.
