Berei (BEAR-ay) is the Flan goddess of home, family, and agriculture. She's thought by some to be an aspect of Beory.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
The Hearth Mother appears as a brown-skinned woman with a kind demeanor and a strong back.
Worshippers[edit | edit source]
Berei is worshipped by farmers and their households, and her clerics are close to them, acting as their protectors and advisors. Those that choose to wander keep an eye out for new crops and seeds, plant seeds in their wake, and bring news from one community to the next. It's also not unusual for them to adopt their travelling companions as family members.
Dogma[edit | edit source]
The family is the strongest tie between individuals, and one must learn to support and depend upon one’s family to survive. A community is a form of large family, and when another family is in need it is the duty of the community to provide for them. The birth of a new child in a time of plenty is a great blessing and an opportunity to resolve differences and restore frayed connections within the family. Care must be taken with every planting so that life can begin there again next year.
