Achilles Ridgerunner

The Tauros' civilian cousin.

The little brother of the Goliath Truck. The Achilles Ridgerunner is a type of Imperial vehicle that is traditionally employed by mining guilds and geological surveyors as exploration vehicles that is often used by Genestealer Cults.

Overview

Ridgerunner drivers use them to range into hazardous frontier environments, in order to scan for promising resource deposits and communicate their location back to base. Though the Ridgerunner is not specifically designed for military use, Genestealer Cults can convert these these rugged vehicles into remarkably effective outriders and scout vehicles. For an interesting trivia, the driver's cockpit entrance is an open hatch door like that of a tank, pretty nifty for a industrial mining vehicle that has to deal with atmospheric storms and geological disturbances.

In a Cult's hands the Ridgerunner's heavy mining lasers, which are normally used to unearth rich seams of valuable minerals and rare metals, can be used as highly effective weapons that can sear through the armoured hulls of vehicles. If need be though, the mining lasers can be can be switched out for a missile launcher or even a heavy mortar. The Cult's will also add additional firepower to the Ridgerunner, in the form of two heavy stubbers that are placed in the front of the vehicle.

For all intents and purposes, it is a Genestealer Tauros.
