Neurocytes are parasitic Tyranid organisms which cling to the backs of Neurogaunts.
Overview[edit | edit source]
These comparatively small Tyranid organisms resemble a large, armoured pill-bug covered entirely from head-to-toe in Chitin. It is currently unknown what their purpose actually is, but we can speculate that if the Neurogaunts are living psychic relays akin to an internet router, than the Neurocyte could act as their antennae.
With the latest WarCom article, it is all but confirmed that the Neurocyte are synaptic conduits. So yeah, they are biological internet routers.
Whatever the case, no Neurogaunt is seen without their Neurocyte buddies. So they are pretty dang important for the organism as a whole.
