Invader ATV
![]() |

Not to be confused with Invaders chapter.
In a complete first for the Primaris Marines, the power-armored wonders finally got a vehicle that is neither a motorcycle nor a hovertank. This probably sounds great, at least until you realize that it's just a doubled-up Primaris Attack Bike- and one paired with a design that stretches 40k's expected suspension of disbelief to near-absurdity. Seriously, look at it.
The Invader All-Terrain Vehicle, also known as the Invader ATV or simply as the Invader, is a light scout vehicle that can be armed with either an Onslaught Gatling Cannon or a Multi-Melta with a twin-linked Bolter on the driver's front. This allows the Invader to lay down some serious supporting firepower. Unfortunately, it also looks more like a go-cart than a proper combat vehicle, which is the main reason why people hate it.
Immediately after its reveal to an unsuspecting world, this wonderfully dopey thing spawned a metric fuckton of memes and skub. While the 'ATV' space marine bike conversion is not unknown the Invader is... well, let's just say the Genestealer Cults did it better. Even hardcore Primaris players find the Invader difficult to like. Still, it does have its boons, it's... damn. No, on second thought, it's really pretty bad.
Alternative take: Come on! It's a dune buggy with power armour! That's fun in a bun, and who doesn't like Mario Kart? Just fire up the Rainbow Road theme of your choice and you're good to go! It also states in the fluff that it can fold itself to modify its ground clearance; this is most evident with the back wheels. Why the model doesn't actually do that is a mystery.
- Looking at the model itself, it's actually not as bad as the picture makes it out to be. Sure, it looks like something from a certain popular Karting game, but it's meant to be an armed dune buggy - it may be no Ridgerunner but why should the Spess Mehreens get the coolest looking stuff all the time? The antenna isn't an issue, as the gun is turned by the gunner leaning back and using his own weight to turn it, so it's not meant to turn that far (there are actual armed dune buggies in real life with similar fire arcs). Clearance is better than it seems, there would be probably more than a foot clearance at the back, although weirdly less at the front. There are gaps in the armour allowing the front wheel mountings to turn, (although this does depend on there being no front suspension at all, any vertical movement on those front wheels means you'll have the largest turning circle in the world).
