Line 1: Line 1:
The blood boils and produces a blackened flesh. The quill burns ruin. THE QUILL BURNS RUIN. I found myself a silken flame of undying beauty. My body grown into infinitely branching roots. Repeated signatures of a forgotten void, a flesh sung into new glory. A clockmaker spins his tale, he knows not of what he seeks, but he knows that he doth seek. When should one partake in this Trial? Does it advance without the Catalyst, or must it be restructured from it's Pieces? The Pattern grows ever more complex. Among the are many mysteries. We must seek the Knower. Seeds are planted, and a garden expands. The flames themselves are set alight, and our conflagration rises. You store the knowings of destruction and horror and beauty and madness and peace within your spirit. The clockmaker knows not of what he seeks- perhaps it is you? I seek to be what I have sought to be. Soon, I shall have my chance to BECOME. But that is not what the Clockmaker seeks.

Trained extensively in close-quarters warfare and veterans of a dozen close-fought cityfights, the Necropolis Hawks are stoic and efficient in their warfare. They bear their battlefield role insignia upon their backpacks so that their comrades can identify them even in the choking smoke and dust of urban war. They are also capable of humor, meaning as far as Space Marines go they might as well be comedians. In the short story “Kill Shot” (part of the Tales of Vigilus series) a group of Necropolis Hawks Reivers are duking it out with genestealer cultists and they get to a lull in the fight. The Sergeant gets pissed at one of his reivers for losing his knife and states that he’ll be letting their chaplain know about his failure to keep his equipment. The reiver responds by saying that he’ll be sure to ask the genestealer who’s gut contains his shattered knife pieces to explain the situation to his chaplain. This gets a chuckle out of the other reiver in the squad and shuts the Sergeant up quick. Right funny fucks they are.

Necropolis Hawks are one of Roboute Guilliman's new Primaris Chapters.
