The Fulminators are a Loyalist Space Marine chapter created from Ultramarines Geneseed. Created in M31 and officially unveiled during the Ultima Founding, the Fulminators are comprised entirely of Primaris Marines.

On the Tabletop[edit]

The Fulminators are the "official" Smurf NuMarines chapter, and as such combine the shiny new True-Scale marines with the newer aesthetic with the themes of the Ultramarines chapter.

Colors and Heraldry[edit]

The Fulminators colors are nearly identical to their parent chapter. Solid blue with a golden imperial insignia on their chest, this gold also is used for the shoulder pauldrons trim. Like their parent chapter, Chapter markings, squad number (shown on the left kneeguard), and unit designations (shown on the right shoulder) are white. Breaking slightly from the Ultramarine standard is the left shoulder, which is painted white with the chapter insignia on it.

Chapter Badge[edit]

The Fulminators' logo is a red lightning bolt with stylized black wings spread out behind it. It is shown on a field of white. Their name and symbol comes from the electrical storms over Mars at the time of their creation, which were the worst in millennia at the time.

Trivia[edit]

Fulminators is the plural of "Fulminator," which is someone who makes a verbal attack or denounces (Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of elderberries!). It is also an old word meaning "to strike with lightning" or "to cause things to explode." Fitting, given that they were named after what amounts to really big thunderstorms. They recently made an appearance in one of the Black Library Novellas indicating that they do indeed have a thing for lightning and electricity, with one of their sergeants declaring "we are the lightning bringers" and implying that their selection process involves initiates surviving an electrocution. It may or may not also be a knowing nod to the fact that Primaris Marines are essentially the Stormcast Eternals of 40k. More likely though, its a nod to the Ultramarines Roman aesthetic. The Legio XII Fulminata was one of the legions of Ancient Rome, raised by Julius Caesar for his Gallic campaign.
Incidentally, they already have an "official" transfer sheet logo, just fish for a Space Marines Vehicle Transfer sheet and you should get a couple.
