Aventernus, is the god of sea, fair practices, justice, and the creator of the aventi race.
History[edit | edit source]
Aventernus was once the patron of the island nation of Aventus, a nation of powerful wizards and skilled sailors, and a god of maritime endeavors and fair mercantilism. This changed however, when a great disaster caused Aventus to sink beneath the sea. Aventernus then turned those humans faithful to him to the first Aventi, turning him into the god he is now.
Worshippers[edit | edit source]
Most aventi worship Aventernus as the races savior, and the upper class tends be made of his clerics and paladins, with many believing Aventernus appoints them himself.
Knights of the Pearl[edit | edit source]
Knights of the Pearl are a paladin order dedicated to defending the aventi and serving the kings of their settlement. They take the defense and prosperity as their sacred charge. They only recruit from those who have a history of defending their race, using their strength to benefit those who are weaker, and show a talent for channeling and manipulating positive energy. For this, Aventernus gives them the Blessing of the Pearl, a technique that allows the paladins to infuse the water that surrounds them with positive energy, eventually allowing them to also damage evil water-dwelling creatures when turning undead.
