Drill Master

Drill Masters are the Champions of Necromunda's Ironhead Squat Prospector parties and the residential heavy weapons guy of the team.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Drill Masters are the right hand of their Charter Masters and are tasked with keeping the Drill-Kyn and Diggers in line, often with little more than a gruff word and stare. The true value of Drill Masters lies with their ability to sniff out the hidden wealth of Necromunda, looking upon an expanse of wasteland and pinpointing the likely mineral and chemical deposits with extreme accuracy. They can also use their skills to detect perils like unstable ground or subterranean predators.
Due to being the second-in-command, Drill Masters are equipped with the best the Squats can give or manufacture. Other than wearing modified Imperial Mesh Armour to suit a Squat's physique, they also arm themselves with heavy range weapons such as Ironhead Heavy Stubbers, Ironhead Boltguns, Heavy Flamers and a slew of explosives including Blasting Charges, Frag Grenades, Krak Grenades, and Smoke Grenades.
Crunch[edit | edit source]
On Necromunda, Drill Masters are your shooty champions. They wield all sorts of heavy ranged weapons which makes them deadly from afar but vulnerable in close-quarters. Basically the direct opposite of their Charter Masters. They have Wisdom of the Ancients as their primary skill and of all the abilities within that skill, Nobody pushes Kin around and Dependable like Kin are the most useful.
For the former, this ability allows the Drill Master to be immovable by traits like Knockback, or skills like Hurl. You also auto-pass tests for falling by virtue of going Prone next to a ledge. This is pretty relevant, all the more so if your game plan for a heavily armed Drill Master is to stand him on a moving vehicle to fire at the enemy.
The latter allows the Drill Master to ignore the Unstable trait for weapons, and can re-roll all Ammo Checks. Vital for any Drill Master with a Rapid Fire (2-3) weapon choice like the Heavy Stubber for example.
